Starting from humble beginnings, Rob grew up in communist Hungary. Healthcare entrepreneurship is deeply ingrained in his DNA, growing up with a mother who was the director of Budapest Medical University and a father who was and remains a successful serial entrepreneur. Rob has had the opportunity to travel the world extensively and has lived and worked across multiple continents. Rob graduated with a Healthcare MBA from The Wharton School and an MSc in Economics from the Budapest Corvinus University. He is a CFA and serves as co-chair of YPO, Long Island New York chapter.
Rob started his professional career as an equity research analyst covering healthcare stocks in Emerging Markets with various investment banks including Bankers Trust Alex.Brown. At the age of 25, he started his first business, which he helped build into a successful investment boutique. He has over 15 years of private equity experience, 11 with Warburg Pincus, a leading global growth equity investing business where he was a partner. Rob has a deep background in healthcare and consumer services and significant buy-and-build experience, most recently as co-founder and chairman of The Smilist Management, a business he launched in 2014, which is now one of the leading dental support organizations servicing the New York Metro area. He is truly passionate about improving healthcare and enjoys working with talented entrepreneurs.
Rob is an avid traveler and always up for a challenge whether physical or mental. He finds watching soccer is a perfect way to let loose and is prepared to hop on a transatlantic flight at a moment’s notice to watch his favorite team play. He loves picking the race he can win because he loves winning!
